Linden Ashby admits he had second thoughts before stepping into such a dark character as Cameron. "I'm not big on being mean to people," he says, noting that during one particularly nasty scene with Jennifer Gareis (Grace), he even stopped to apologize! "I told her, 'I know this is a stupid thing to say, but it's Cameron, it's not me. I think you're lovely!'" he shares. "But it's hard. You bring it home." Which is one of the reasons Ashby turned down the role of a psycho killer in the 1997 thriller Kiss the Girls. I said, 'I respect your right to make the film." but I didn't want to put this kind of negative energy into the world. That's why it's odd for me to play this part." The showbiz vet says that while he knew Cameron wouldn't be a nice guy, he was a little taken aback by the violence - starting with his very first scene, in which Cameron beats up Sharon in a motel room. "I'm used to playing heroes, so this has been fun for me. I don't know if Cameron is my favorite role, but he is a favorite in the [sense] that he doesn't have any boundaries."
